The Kosovo Police announced that they held a coordination meeting today with representatives of relevant local and international institutions as part of additional preparations for the June 7 elections.

The police also conducted meetings with regional directors and department heads of the Kosovo Police.

“Operational planning, security measures, and police engagements aimed at ensuring a peaceful and secure electoral process throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo were discussed,” the statement said.

“In the second meeting, held at 14:15, representatives of justice institutions, the Central Election Commission (CEC), as well as representatives of international organizations and missions monitoring and supporting the electoral process, participated. During this meeting, police preparations, planned security measures, and inter-institutional coordination mechanisms for election day were presented,” the statement added.

The General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, emphasized the importance of the professional and impartial engagement of all police officers, noting that the electoral process has so far been characterized by a calm situation without incidents that could undermine public security or the normal conduct of election activities.

During the meetings, operational tasks, institutional responsibilities, and coordination activities to be undertaken before, during, and after the voting process were also presented, with a particular focus on maintaining public order, securing polling stations, and guaranteeing citizens’ free exercise of their right to vote.

The Kosovo Police also called on citizens to cooperate with institutions and report any suspicious cases or unlawful activities that could affect the smooth conduct of the electoral process through the emergency number 192, at police stations, or through official communication channels.
