Saša Vuković, alias “Boske,” has formally confessed to the high-profile murder of notorious figure Aleksandar Nešović, known as “Baja,” inside Belgrade’s upscale Restaurant “27.”
In a leaked transcript from his interrogation at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Vuković admitted to emptying his firearm into the victim on Thursday, June 18, 2026. However, he is fiercely contesting the prosecution’s legal qualification of premeditated murder for financial gain, claiming he acted entirely in self-defense out of terror for his own life and his family’s safety.
What makes the confession explosive across the Balkans is Vuković’s detailed account of his close relationships with two of Serbia’s highest-ranking law enforcement officials: Belgrade Police Chief Veselin Milić and Marko Kričak, the Head of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP).
The Setup at Restaurant “27”
According to Vuković’s testimony, financial disputes and soured business deals had caused his relationship with Nešović to deteriorate to the point where he constantly moved around Belgrade heavily armed, despite having his firearms license revoked.
Vuković claims he did not plan the encounter at the restaurant. Instead, he was lured there under the guise of an institutional arbitration:
- The Invitation: Vuković was invited to the venue by his long-time personal friend, Belgrade Police Chief Veselin Milić.
- The “Peace in the City” Mandate: Milić reportedly cleared the table, asking others to leave, and told Vuković that Nešović was arriving. Milić explicitly stated he wanted to broker a truce because he desired “peace in the city.”
- The Departure: When Nešović arrived, he expressed hostility at Vuković’s presence and abruptly walked out. Disgusted or frustrated by the failed mediation, Police Chief Milić also left the premises shortly after.
The Shooting: “You Will Kneel Before Me”
The situation escalated rapidly after the police chief walked out. Vuković testified that he called Nešović on his mobile phone, urging him to return to settle their differences peacefully.
“When Baja returned, he was a completely different person. He was hyper-aggressive and kept his hand tucked tightly inside his vest pocket. He looked at me and said, ‘You will kneel before me.’ I immediately dropped to one knee to de-escalate the tension. Then, I heard a distinct ‘click’ and saw a pistol in his hand. Terrified, I pulled my gun from my waistband and fired almost my entire magazine in his direction.”
The UKP Connection and the “Autokomanda” Incident
The second phase of Vuković’s interrogation exposed deeper structural ties to Serbia’s secret police networks. Vuković admitted that prior to returning to Serbia from the United States, he used underworld intermediaries to check his criminal standing with UKP Chief Marko Kričak.

Vuković was highly anxious about whether the state was tracking him for a violent, unspecified shadow incident that occurred at Autokomanda in November 2025. Through these intermediaries, he was assured that no official UKP investigation was active against him.
Vuković further claimed that Nešović was fully aware of his attempts to backchannel with the UKP chief. In an earlier confrontation, Nešović mockingly warned him that Kričak “could not stand the sight of him” and would personally orchestrate his downfall. Vuković’s attempts to arrange a face-to-face sit-down over coffee with the UKP chief fell through just weeks before the assassination when his broker warned him that “the timing wasn’t right.”
The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office is currently verifying the suspect’s claims against CCTV footage recovered from Restaurant “27” and digital forensics from the mobile devices of all parties involved, including the named police officials.
