The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute has announced that the week will begin with extremely high temperatures. On Monday, the maximum temperature is expected to reach as high as 38°C.
People with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children are advised to avoid direct sun exposure between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., drink plenty of fluids, and limit physical activities outdoors.
By the middle of the week, cooler air masses are expected to move into the region. However, this change is forecast to bring atmospheric instability, with local rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
Monday is expected to be the hottest day of the week. Minimum temperatures will range between 15°C and 18°C, while maximum temperatures will range from 32°C to 38°C. The weather will be mostly sunny with partial cloud cover.
On Tuesday, cloudy weather with sunny intervals is forecast. During the second half of the day, cloud cover is expected to increase, creating conditions for local rain showers in some areas. Minimum temperatures will range from 15°C to 18°C, while maximum temperatures will be between 32°C and 35°C.
Wednesday is expected to bring changeable and unstable weather. Local rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms are forecast throughout the day, while isolated areas may also experience hail and temporarily stronger winds. Minimum temperatures will range from 15°C to 18°C, while maximum temperatures will range between 30°C and 34°C.
A noticeable drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday. The weather will be mostly sunny, although isolated showers may occur in some areas during the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will reach up to 18°C, while maximum temperatures will drop significantly to around 27°C.
Sunny weather with scattered clouds is also expected on Friday. In some isolated areas, cloud development may bring brief local showers. Minimum temperatures will range between 13°C and 16°C, while maximum temperatures will range from 25°C to 28°C.
Winds will blow from the northwest at speeds of 1–5 m/s.
Regarding agrometeorological conditions, the very high temperatures at the beginning of the week will increase evaporation and moisture loss from the soil. Regular irrigation of agricultural crops is therefore recommended, especially for vegetables and crops that are in their intensive growth stages.
