The Kosovo Police have issued a public warning about a wave of fraudulent emails being sent in the name of Police Director General Gazmend Hoxha.
According to the police, several citizens have received emails falsely presented as official communications from Kosovo’s security institutions. The messages claim to concern a court order and urge recipients to respond immediately.
Authorities stressed that these emails are not legitimate and confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for distributing them.
The Kosovo Police advised citizens to:
- Do not open any attachments included in these emails.
- Do not click on suspicious links.
- Do not share personal, financial, or banking information.
Anyone who receives such messages is urged to delete the email, report it to the relevant authorities, and contact their bank immediately if they have already disclosed any financial information.
The police also emphasized that official communications never request payments via SMS or ask for sensitive personal information through unsecured channels.
