Ukrainian officials say that Ukrainian drones have once again struck warehouses belonging to Russia’s largest online retailer, Wildberries, killing one person and injuring 14 others.
They said that logistics centers operated by Wildberries in two southwestern Russian cities in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions were hit overnight, forcing workers to evacuate.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the facilities were “involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment, and other equipment.”
Ukraine struck Wildberries warehouses in central Russia four days earlier, killing eight people, according to Russian officials.
Wildberries — often described as “Russia’s Amazon” — employs around 48,000 people.
Workers were evacuated following the attacks on logistics centers in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, Wildberries founder and Russia’s richest woman, Tatyana Kim, said earlier on Wednesday.
“There are no words to describe all the feelings and emotions caused by the attacks on ordinary people, our employees, and us — people who are simply doing their jobs,” she wrote on Telegram. “But these situations show the most important thing: we must continue doing what we do for the benefit of people.”
