Anti-government protests in Albania entered their 55th consecutive day on Friday, as demonstrators once again gathered in central Tirana to continue their campaign against the government.
Protesters assembled at Skanderbeg Square before marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office, where speeches were scheduled and participants reiterated their demands to the government and the country’s political leadership.
For 55 consecutive evenings, demonstrators have gathered outside the government headquarters and organized marches through the streets of the Albanian capital.
Throughout the protests, participants have chanted political slogans critical of the government, while organizers have vowed to continue the demonstrations until their demands are met.
A similar rally took place on Thursday, when large numbers of protesters gathered in Skanderbeg Square before marching to the Prime Minister’s Office. Organizers said the movement will continue in the coming days as pressure on the authorities intensifies.
The demonstrations have become one of the longest-running protest movements in Albania in recent months, with organizers maintaining daily mobilization and insisting they will not end the campaign until concrete political demands are addressed.
