Parents and guardians in Kosovo have until August 9 to apply for government subsidies covering textbooks and school materials for students in primary and lower secondary education, from grades one through nine.

The Ministry of Education said applications are being submitted through the eKosova platform and will remain open for two weeks, from July 27 through August 9, 2026.

The subsidy covers the purchase of textbooks and school materials for students in grades 1–9, with the allocated funds transferred directly to the bank account of the parent or applicant.

The Ministry urged applicants to ensure that their bank account is active and that their personal information on eKosova is accurate and up to date before submitting an application.

Foreign citizens who hold temporary or permanent residence permits in Kosovo are also eligible to apply if their children attend educational institutions in the country.

The Ministry added that foreign citizens who do not yet have a residence permit but have children enrolled in Kosovo schools will also be provided with access to eKosova for the purpose of submitting an application. The Ministry said it would provide the Information Society Agency with a list of such cases to facilitate access.

Parents can apply through the following official application channels:

  • Grades 1–5: eKosova application portal
  • Grades 6–9: eKosova application portal

With the deadline set for August 9, parents and guardians who have not yet submitted their applications are advised to complete the process before the application window closes.
