Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla has described the deployment of the Kosovo Police at the Main Bridge in Mitrovica as positive news, following the beginning of NATO-led KFOR’s gradual withdrawal from its permanent presence at the location.
Speaking to the media from the Mitrovica Bridge, Sveçla said the process will be carried out in close coordination with KFOR, which has so far held primary responsibility for security at the bridge.
He added that responsibility for maintaining security at the bridge will gradually be transferred to the Kosovo Police, as part of the ongoing adjustment of the security presence in the area.
