For the 72nd consecutive day, citizens gathered again at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana before marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office to continue their protest.
Protesters once again made clear that they will not back down until their demands are met, warning that the mobilization will continue in the coming days.
The protesters’ main slogan remains “Resign!”, while the demonstration has increasingly focused on demands for deep political changes and the removal of the old political establishment.
What initially began as a reaction to a controversial project to build a tourist resort in Zvërnec has, after more than 70 days of protests, evolved into a broader movement with direct political demands.
The protesters are expected to continue marching through the capital’s main streets, following the same route used during previous demonstrations.
