Acting Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly Avni Dehari has spoken about the next constitutive session of the Assembly, saying it will be called once the political parties reach an agreement.

“The session will be called when there is an agreement,” Dehari told reporters.

Referring to the Assembly’s rules and the constitutional deadlines, Dehari said there are no sanctions for failing to meet the deadlines and argued that reaching a political agreement is more important than repeatedly holding sessions without results.

“According to the Rules of Procedure… but there are no sanctions for that. It is better to have an agreement that resolves the problem. We know that from December 28, 57 sessions were held and they did not bring anything new. What would be the point of continuing to hold sessions without achieving any results?” he said.
