Residents of the Abaze neighborhood in Krujë reported that the wildfire situation worsened overnight due to strong winds, which fueled the spread of the flames and pushed them dangerously close to homes.
According to residents, a helicopter also arrived in the morning to assist with firefighting efforts.
Earlier, Albania’s Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces had been engaged throughout the night in operations to contain the fire in the Abaze neighborhood, working alongside emergency services to prevent the flames from spreading and to protect residents and property.
