Republican Congressman Joe Wilson described the state funeral of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić as a gallery of thugs and anti-American figures led by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
Wilson emphasized that Putin and Mladić are war criminals, drawing a parallel with the Russian president, who is leading the war in Ukraine.
“The funeral is a gallery of thugs consisting of anti-American Vučić and figures from the Russian regime. The Serbian people deserve better. They deserve the rule of law and free and fair elections,” Wilson wrote.
Mladić’s funeral was described by The New York Times as: “Thousands of Serbs Gather to Mourn Ratko Mladić, the ‘Butcher of Bosnia.’”
“The government insisted that the funeral was a private matter, even though government ministers attended and state media covered the convicted war criminal with praise,” The New York Times reported.
