The EU’s Head of Cooperation in Kosovo, Hubert Perr, has emphasized the importance of sustainable infrastructure investments as Kosovo prepares to host the “Prishtina 2030” Mediterranean Games.
Speaking at the forum “Road to 2030: Kosovo on the Mediterranean Stage,” organized by the European Investors Council, Perr said infrastructure developed for the Games must be accessible, safe, sustainable and properly managed so that it continues serving citizens long after the competition ends.
“The Games will last a few weeks, but what Kosovo builds for them could shape Kosovo for decades,” Perr said.
According to Perr, Prishtina 2030 has the potential to raise Kosovo’s international profile, create new economic opportunities and accelerate investment in modern and sustainable infrastructure.
He said the European Union can contribute through expertise and investment, while strong institutional coordination and partnerships will be essential to maximize the long-term benefits for Kosovo and its citizens.
