The 15th consecutive protest organized under the “Not in My Name” initiative has ended in Skënderbeu Square in Prishtina, with participants demonstrating against the first-instance verdict issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against four former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders.
The protest featured speeches and other activities, while participants voiced their opposition to the verdict and called for justice for the former KLA leaders.
The “Not in My Name” demonstrations have been held regularly in Prishtina since September 16, following the announcement of the verdict.
The Kosovo Specialist Chambers sentenced Hashim Thaçi and Jakup Krasniqi to 25 years in prison each, Kadri Veseli to 18 years, and Rexhep Selimi to 13 years. The convictions are subject to appeal.
Meanwhile, the civic platform “Liria Ka Emër” has announced a large protest in Prishtina for Thursday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. The gathering is also planned in Skënderbeu Square and is being organized in opposition to the Hague verdict.
