The first shipment to Switzerland under the Free Trade Agreement between Kosovo and the EFTA states was dispatched today from the Dheu i Bardhë customs point. The shipment consists of modular homes produced by the Peja-based company Green House.
The shipment marks one of the first concrete steps in implementing the agreement, which officially entered into force on October 1, 2026. The agreement is intended to create more favorable conditions for Kosovo businesses and facilitate the export of goods and services to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
Under the agreement, exporters of industrial products will benefit from the liberalization of customs tariffs. For a number of agricultural products, reduced or zero tariffs, as well as preferential quotas, will apply in accordance with the conditions set out in the agreement.
The agreement also provides more favorable opportunities for the export of services, with the aim of expanding the presence of Kosovo-made products and services in EFTA markets.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET) said it will continue supporting businesses by providing information and guidance on the opportunities offered by the agreement, with the goal of increasing exports, creating new partnerships and supporting economic development.
