Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reached an agreement with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to work towards establishing a new grain transport corridor in the Black Sea.
The announcement was made by Zelenskyy himself on Saturday during a joint press conference in Istanbul, following his meeting with the Turkish president.
“Today, I reached an agreement with President Erdoğan to work on the Black Sea grain corridor,” the Ukrainian leader stated.
He emphasised that Türkiye supports efforts to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and restore normal living conditions in the region.
The initiative aims to create new opportunities for the maritime transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products, at a time when the security of shipping routes in the Black Sea remains a strategically important issue for the region and international markets.
