Kosovo’s Ministry of Economy and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund have formalised a new financial agreement worth €1 million, aimed at expanding investments and energy-saving programmes across the country.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli and Njomza Hoxha, Managing Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Economy, the allocated funds will support the Fund’s operations and help advance its objectives in the field of energy efficiency.

With this latest allocation, the government’s financial support for the Fund since 2019 has reached a total of €10 million.

“Support for the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund has been continuous. Since 2019, the government has allocated a total of €10 million to support the Fund’s mandate and expand energy efficiency measures throughout the country,” the ministry stated.

The investments are intended to improve living conditions and reduce energy costs through the renovation of individual houses, multi-apartment residential buildings and public institutions.

According to the ministry, these measures have a direct impact on households, helping ensure warmer homes during winter and cooler indoor temperatures during summer, while generating long-term savings on energy bills.

In addition to the benefits for citizens, the institution says investments in this sector help reduce pressure on the electricity system and strengthen the country’s energy security.

The Ministry of Economy has announced that it will continue supporting programmes aimed at promoting more efficient energy consumption.

“The Ministry of Economy will continue to support policies and programmes that promote energy efficiency, placing citizens’ well-being and sustainable development at the centre of public investment,” the statement said.
