Polish Minister Discusses Enthusiastic Response to Draft and Training Needs at NATO Forum

During a NATO forum held in Washington, the Polish Minister revealed that several thousand individuals have already registered for the current draft. What stands out is the strong desire among these registrants to serve and support their compatriots. However, they have expressed a crucial condition: they do not want to be deployed into combat without proper training and equipment.

The minister emphasized the importance of adequate preparation for those mobilized. “We don’t want to be sent into combat without being properly trained and equipped,” he quoted the registrants.

Additionally, the minister highlighted that Ukrainians mobilized to this legion will have the opportunity to return to Poland after their rotation. This arrangement aims to ensure that the personnel maintain a balance between service and rest.

“If every European country did this, Ukraine would have several brigades,” the minister noted, suggesting a collaborative effort across Europe could significantly bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.

This statement underscores the potential for a unified European approach to support Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of both training and logistical support for those willing to serve.
