The Minister of Economy and Labor of North Macedonia, Besar Durmishi, during an official visit to Pristina, held a working meeting today with the Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli.

During the visit and official meeting, thoughts were exchanged on important issues related to deepening trade cooperation between the two countries and future regional connectivity projects.

At the meeting, Durmishi noted that the Ministry of Economy and Labor, with the assumption of new responsibilities, will focus, among other things, on greater regional connectivity and support for local businesses to increase competitiveness.

“We are interested in increasing cooperation with the Republic of Kosovo in every field. The vision and strategy we have ahead of us as a Government foresee closer regional cooperation, and only through mutual support, especially in the field of regional projects, am I convinced that the benefits will be mutual and progress will be evident for both countries,” said Durmishi.

Durmishi expressed his strong belief that regional competition would strengthen the region’s resilience, bring prosperity to citizens, create a stronger labor market, foster growth, and ensure a bright future for the economies, while also preparing them for entry into the larger European Union market.

Both ministers agreed that there are several initiatives for regional connectivity and there is awareness in both governments of the benefits that regional integrations bring. It is necessary to work actively on both sides to implement the initiatives and agreements for the implementation of regional integrations.
