The Albanian-Swiss team has resumed scientific research in the village of Lin, where rare archaeological excavations have been discovered.

The first results and the dating of the archaeological material carried out at the University of Geneva in Switzerland with the support of the University of Oxford in England, list the Palafit settlement “Lin 3” as the oldest settlement of this typology in Europe.

During this season, archaeologists will focus on deepening knowledge on the extent of this settlement, the complexity of construction, as well as its connections with archaeological sites of the same period in the Korça basin, writes Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on “Facebook”. .

“Assessing the importance of this archaeological discovery, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation and the National Institute of Cultural Heritage are working on the preparation of the decision to protect and declare it an archaeological site, which is expected to be finalized within 2024” .
