The fire near the Shëngjin beach reached a critical point on Tuesday afternoon, surrounding a tourist resort where two beach bars were burned down.
Strong winds and rapidly advancing flames led to orders for the full evacuation of tourists and residents from the area.
The most dramatic moment occurred in Ranën e Hedhun, where flames, aided by wind and vegetation, spread so quickly that they caught firefighters by surprise.
In the same area, the roof of a multi-story house also caught fire.
The flames have approached the church of Shëngjin, and aerial efforts to extinguish the fire continue.
