North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has stated that Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is always welcome in his country and expressed regret over the recent incident at Skopje Airport.

He emphasized that next time, if informed in advance, he will be present at Skopje Airport to personally welcome President Osmani.

“We also discussed topics that are politically important for both countries, especially the recent event on August 2 involving the President of Kosovo. It was also highlighted by those present that, according to information from TAV Airport, clear standards and international procedures are followed for commercial flights, and these procedures apply to me as Prime Minister, the President, and all official persons who pass through the VIP section, which I do not use but pass through as an ordinary citizen,” said Prime Minister Mickoski.

“This caused us some regret, and we do not want it to happen again. I personally emphasized that the President of Kosovo is welcome, as are the citizens of Kosovo. Next time, when I receive timely information, I will be pleased to host her as a guest at Skopje Airport and accompany her during her time there to avoid such incidents, particularly behaviors by individuals, which is our internal issue to resolve within our state,” he added.
