Defense Minister Ejup Macedonci has outlined the reasons he believes are hindering Kosovo’s membership in the Atlantic alliance, NATO.
In an interview with Klankosova.tv, he stated that the hesitation of non-recognizing states within NATO continues to be the main obstacle in the membership process. “All these are indicators that our country is aligning with NATO, but it is known that the decision for NATO membership is a political one and depends on the will of the member states. In this regard, the hesitation for support from non-recognizing states within NATO remains the main barrier to the membership process.”
“On the other hand, during all the visits I have made to partner countries such as the USA, United Kingdom, Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Finland, and other countries, we have been assured that the support of these countries for Kosovo’s NATO membership will continue and even increase,” said Macedonci.
