The chairman of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, announced that, at the invitation of the University of Chicago, he shared Kosovo’s story at the Global Person Forum.

“Before many scholars, high-level global decision-makers, and experts, I presented our vision for a sustainable future,” Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.

“I spoke about the importance of diplomacy and international cooperation. I emphasized Kosovo’s path towards freedom and state-building and the importance of embracing Western values in achieving our aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration. Freedom came as the result of a long process. In the 1990s, peaceful resistance began. From 1997-1999, we launched the liberation war, and then, on March 24, 1999, NATO airstrikes led by the U.S. began, which resulted in our freedom and independence,” he wrote.

Haradinaj said that this journey was not easy but has been and continues to be sustainable. According to him, Kosovo is a success story, made even greater by the support and partnership coming from the democratic world, led by America.

“Kosovo eagerly awaits to move faster towards NATO integration. It is important that states are responsible and act with accountability,” he concluded.
