BOLU, Turkey – A tragic fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in northwest Turkey has claimed the lives of six people and injured 31 others, Turkish state broadcaster TRT reported on Tuesday.

The fire broke out early Tuesday morning on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel. Firefighters are still working to extinguish the blaze, according to Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, but initial reports suggest it started in the restaurant area on the fourth floor.

Governor Aydin confirmed that 234 guests were staying at the hotel at the time of the incident. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
