U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that the European Union (EU) could be next to face tariffs, after he imposed a 25% tax on goods from Mexico and Canada, and an additional 10% tax on imports from China.

While arriving in Maryland from Florida, Trump told the BBC that tariffs on EU goods imported to the U.S. could happen “very soon,” according to Sinjali.

“They don’t take our cars, they don’t take our farm products, they hardly take anything, and we take everything from them. Millions of cars, huge amounts of food and agricultural products,” he told reporters.

The American president added that he had a good relationship with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and that trade issues with the United Kingdom could be resolved.

When asked by the BBC if there was a set timeline for announcing tariffs on the European bloc, Trump said, “I wouldn’t say there’s a deadline, but it will be very soon.”

Regarding trade with the United Kingdom, the U.S. President said the country had been “off track,” but added that the issues could be resolved.

“The United Kingdom is off track. But I’m sure a deal, I think, can be reached,” Trump said.

The American president also discussed his relationship with the British Prime Minister, who he said had been “very good.”
