The incident took place in Örebro, approximately 200 km west of Stockholm, on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the severity of the injuries, according to the BBC.

The attack happened shortly before 1:00 PM local time, and officials have urged residents to stay away from the school premises.

“Very Serious Situation,” Says Swedish Justice Minister

Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer described the situation as “very serious” in an interview with SVT Örebro, adding that the response to the incident was still unfolding.

The Swedish government remains in close contact with authorities as the situation develops.
