On the 17th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, President Vjosa Osmani declared that February 17, 2008, changed the fate of Kosovo forever, adding that the country’s freedom carries the seal of its allied states. She made this statement during a state reception marking the occasion, as reported by Reporteri.net.
Osmani emphasized that Kosovo’s allies stood by the people of Kosovo during the most difficult days. “Our freedom bears the seal of our allies who stood with our people in the darkest days of our history and continue to stand with us unwaveringly. They were with us during the darkest years, and they remain by our side as the Republic writes new, decisive chapters in strengthening our state,” she said.
Kosovo, she continued, will move forward alongside its allies. “Kosovo is our home, our pride, and our greatest responsibility. Together, with determination and unity, side by side with our allies, we will move forward. Today and always, let us raise the flag of our Republic and show the world that Kosovo is, and will remain, a success story, a light of hope, and an unbreakable force,” Osmani declared.
Reflecting on the progress made in the past 17 years, Osmani highlighted the achievements of Kosovo’s youth, who have excelled in sports, science, art, and other fields. “Our women, with courage and vision, have become indispensable pillars of our state’s development… February 17 is today and forever a commitment to building a future where every citizen lives with dignity, equal opportunities, and full trust in their state,” she added.
