The Kremlin stated on Thursday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had made “unacceptable” comments about other world leaders, after Zelensky accused U.S. President Donald Trump of living in a “bubble of disinformation.”

Zelensky also dismissed as false Trump’s claim that the Ukrainian president allegedly enjoys only 4 percent support among the Ukrainian people, according to Reuters.

When asked about Zelensky’s comments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday: “The rhetoric of Zelensky and many representatives of the Kyiv regime leaves much to be desired. The fact that support for Zelensky is declining is an absolutely clear trend.”

Peskov said he did not wish to go into specifics regarding Zelensky’s popularity, which according to surveys remains above 50 percent.

“Often, representatives of the Ukrainian regime, especially in recent months, allow themselves to say absolutely unacceptable things about other state leaders. Naturally, for many of the heads of state to whom such statements are directed, this is absolutely unacceptable,” the Kremlin spokesperson added.

“We see that there are certain differences between Washington and Kyiv,” he continued, accusing Ukraine of spending foreign taxpayers’ money uncontrollably and resisting efforts to be held accountable for past spending.
