Kosovo Celebrates International Engineers’ Day for the First Time

For the first time since the establishment of the Engineering Chamber of the Republic of Kosovo, today marks the celebration of International Engineers’ Day. The event highlighted the important role engineers play in addressing global crises. Additionally, it was emphasized that this day serves as an excellent opportunity to honor the contributions of engineers both in Kosovo and around the world.

Arsim Rapuca, the President of the Engineering Chamber of Kosovo, stated that International Engineers’ Day marks a significant step forward in empowering and organizing this profession at an institutional level. He also stressed the importance of motivating young people to choose this noble profession, as he described it.

Rapuca emphasized that now more than ever, it is necessary for engineers to collaborate and be guided by common values such as professionalism, ethics, and social responsibility.

Florim Grajçevci, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, remarked that engineers play a crucial role in addressing global crises, including climate change, natural resource management, and the development of technologies.

Visar Krelani, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure at UBT College, expressed their readiness to contribute to raising awareness of engineers’ rights.

Uran Kyçyku, President of the Chamber of Architects of the Replica of Kosovo, stated that International Engineers’ Day serves to highly appreciate the achievements of engineers worldwide.

“This is a historic day as it is celebrated for the first time since the establishment of the Engineering Chamber of the Republic of Kosovo. We are gathered today to solemnly celebrate a special day for the engineering profession, World Engineers’ Day. This day serves to highly value the achievements of engineers worldwide,” Kyçyku said.

Celebrated on March 4, International Engineers’ Day aims to highlight the essential role engineers play in finding solutions to many of the global issues the world faces, including climate change, renewable energy, infrastructure, and technology.
