The Serbian List has filed an appeal with Kosovo’s Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) against the final results of the extraordinary parliamentary elections published by the Central Election Commission (CEC). According to the Serbian List, the election process was marked by “serious irregularities that directly affected the allocation of the parliamentary seats reserved for the Serbian community.”

In its complaint, the Serbian List claims that the For Freedom, Justice and Survival party, led by Nenad Rashiq, received a significant number of votes from Albanian voters.

For this reason, the Serbian List argues that it is unacceptable for a seat reserved for the Serbian community to be won with votes from non-Serb communities and in municipalities where, according to the complaint, there is virtually no Serbian population.

On June 27, the CEC published the final results of the June 7 parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

According to the results, the Serbian List secured nine parliamentary seats, while one seat was won by the For Freedom, Justice and Survival list, represented by Nenad Rashiq.

The ECAP has four days to issue a decision on the appeal. If the complaint is rejected, the Serbian List has the right to appeal to the Kosovo Supreme Court. Under the Law on General Elections, the Supreme Court has five days to rule on election-related appeals.

Once the appeals process is completed, the CEC will be able to certify the final results of the June 7 elections.
