Tensions between the United States and China have escalated after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned Washington’s new tariffs, vowing that Beijing is prepared for “any type of war”—whether trade, economic, or diplomatic.

At a press conference during China’s National People’s Congress (NPC), Wang accused the U.S. of “meeting good with evil” by imposing tariffs despite China’s cooperation in controlling fentanyl exports. He warned that the U.S. “cannot suppress China while expecting friendly relations”, emphasizing that Beijing will retaliate strongly.

Growing Trade War Under Trump’s Second Term

🔹 New Tariffs: The U.S. has raised flat tariffs on all Chinese imports to 20%, while China responded with a 15% hike on U.S. agricultural imports, including chicken, pork, soy, and beef.
🔹 Geopolitical Consequences: China criticized Trump’s “America First” policy, warning that a global power struggle could lead to a “law of the jungle” scenario where weaker nations suffer.
🔹 CIA Concerns: U.S. intelligence agencies are reportedly wary that strained U.S.-China relations could impact national security and economic stability.

As U.S.-China relations reach a new low, the economic and political ripple effects could reshape global trade and security dynamics.
