Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi also met with the EU’s new envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that “a range of topics were discussed, with a focus on the way forward toward normalizing relations within the framework of the dialogue process.”

“Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized that the Basic Agreement and the Implementation Annex of the Ohrid Agreement must be fully implemented through a fair and equal sequencing plan between the parties. He also appreciated the European Union’s public stance that Serbia’s behavior in the Council of Europe is a violation of the agreement,” stated the press release from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Bislimi also said that he “raised concerns and informed Envoy Sorensen about Serbia’s efforts to prevent financial assistance from the government of the Republic of Kosovo to Albanians in the Presevo Valley.”

“Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked Envoy Sorensen for his visit and today’s conversation, expressing his willingness for fruitful cooperation,” the press release added.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office also noted that Bislimi spoke to Sorensen about “the progress made by the country over the years and the development opportunities Kosovo offers, especially in the information technology sector, and the country’s young average population as an important asset.”
