Support for Donald Trump in the first 100 days of his presidency is the lowest recorded for any U.S. president in the past seven decades.

According to a CNN poll, Trump’s approval rating stands at just 41%, the lowest for a U.S. president at this point since the Eisenhower era. This indicates that Trump is performing even worse than during his first term.

Falling Approval Ratings

His job approval rating has dropped by 4 percentage points since March and 7 points since February. Only 22% of Americans say they fully approve of how he is handling the presidency, while 45% disagree with his approach.

Approval among women and Hispanic voters has fallen by 7 points, and support among independent voters has dropped to 31%, levels similar to the lowest points of his first term.

Another survey conducted by ABC News, The Washington Post, and Ipsos also shows Trump’s support at just 39%.

Fear of Economic Recession

Polls reveal widespread concern among Americans regarding Trump’s economic policies, with fears of a looming recession.

  • 72% believe it is very or somewhat likely that Trump’s economic policies could cause a short-term recession.
  • 73% say the economy is in poor condition, and 53% believe it has worsened since Trump took office.
  • 41% report that their personal financial situation has deteriorated.

Foreign Policy Concerns

A majority of Americans (57%) also believe Trump’s diplomacy puts the country at risk. His foreign policy moves — including a more friendly stance toward Russia and cuts to foreign aid programs — receive approval from only 39% of respondents.
