At least 50 Palestinians, including 22 children and 15 women, were killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes targeting the northern Gaza Strip, according to local authorities and hospital sources.

The Indonesian Hospital in Gaza reported that the strikes hit residential homes in Jabalia city and a nearby refugee camp. Graphic images circulating on social media show the lifeless bodies of civilians trapped beneath rubble, along with scenes of devastation from the attack sites.

In total, 70 deaths were reported across Gaza on Wednesday alone, with Jabalia identified as one of the hardest-hit areas.

During an emergency session of the UN Security Council, UN Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher urged the international community to act to “prevent genocide” in Gaza. He accused Israel of imposing “deliberate, inhumane, and shameful conditions” on the civilian population.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, rejected the accusations, calling them “baseless and vicious.” He claimed that the humanitarian aid system in Gaza is being exploited by Hamas for terrorist purposes—a claim strongly denied by the UN and Hamas itself.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has issued a “final warning” to residents of Jabalia and five surrounding areas, urging immediate evacuation toward Gaza City—a clear indication of a likely escalation.

Residents in northern Gaza reported intense explosions overnight, while activist videos show the night sky lit with flames and thick clouds of smoke.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deteriorate, as international aid organizations warn of a deepening emergency in the absence of an immediate ceasefire.
