North Korea launched a salvo of unidentified cruise missiles into the sea today, the South Korean military reported. The missiles were spotted near North Korea’s eastern province of South Hamgyong and were fired toward the Sea of Japan, according to the statement.

This follows a similar launch on May 8, when North Korea fired short-range ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan.

Some experts speculate that these missile tests could be weapons trials intended for Russia.
