For the 21st time in a row, the Kosovo Assembly has failed to constitute itself. Today, deputies will convene for the 22nd attempt to elect the Speaker and formally establish the Assembly.

In response to the continued political deadlock, civil society organizations staged a symbolic protest in front of the Assembly building just before the session began. Their aim was to denounce the ongoing obstruction by MPs who, for months, have blocked progress in forming Kosovo’s legislative body.

With messages such as “Enough”, “The Circus of Democracy”, “This Is Not a TV Series, This Is Our State”, and “Why Did We Elect You?”, activists expressed their growing frustration with the impasse.

These actions reflect a broader public sentiment of disillusionment with the current political class, as many citizens await a functioning government to address pressing national issues.
