Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has extended birthday wishes to Ambassador William Walker on his 90th birthday, which was celebrated in the city of Peja.
Kurti attended the event organized to honor Ambassador Walker, recognizing his decades of support for the people of Kosovo.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to be here tonight in honor of Ambassador William Walker,” Kurti said.
“Walker was and remains the voice of truth for our nation, for our state, not only during the decisive day of January 15, 1999, but in every situation. He stood firmly against Serbia’s propaganda, declaring that crimes against humanity had occurred in Reçak. That moment awakened international diplomacy and global public opinion and proved decisive for what followed NATO’s intervention to stop Serbia’s genocide and liberate Kosovo,” stated Kurti.
The Prime Minister wished Ambassador Walker much love and happiness in the decades to come and expressed deep gratitude for everything he has done and continues to do for Kosovo and its people.
