US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reaffirmed Washington’s ongoing commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and its pursuit of a lasting peace.
During a meeting with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, Bessent underscored the importance of bilateral economic cooperation. He specifically highlighted the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, emphasizing that those who have supported Russia’s war machine should not benefit from Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts.
“No one who financed or supplied the Russian war machine should be allowed to profit from Ukraine’s reconstruction,” Bessent posted on platform X.
Minister Svyrydenko announced that the fund is expected to become operational by the end of this year. Initial agreements include strategic projects in the graphite, lithium, and titanium sectors, which are vital resources for Ukraine’s economy and energy security.
