Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his relationship with billionaire Elon Musk has ended, warning of “serious consequences” if Musk continues to support Democratic candidates who challenge Republicans.

In an interview with NBC News, Trump stated that he will no longer have contact with the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, but clarified that government contracts with Musk’s companies would not be terminated.

Tensions reportedly escalated after Musk criticized Trump’s comprehensive tax and spending bill, calling it “disgusting,” which is impacting the administration’s efforts to pass the legislation in Congress.
