The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, was among the participants in the “Match of the Stars”, a humanitarian football event held in Prishtina on the anniversary of the city’s liberation.

In a lively and celebratory atmosphere, Abdixhiku took to the field alongside two of Kosovo’s national team forwards, Edon Zhegrova and Albion Rrahmani.

Sharing details of the match, Abdixhiku revealed that coach Afrim Tovërlani had placed him in an attacking role:

“Coach Tovërlani gave me the role of striker. On one wing I had Albion, on the other Edon. And let me tell you, on TV, their speed is dizzying. On the field, it was downright terrifying.”

He playfully compared the lineup to that of a star-studded team:

“Me, Edon, Albion, Mbappé and the rest 🙂.”

Abdixhiku emphasized that the game was in support of children in need, and praised the incredible energy of the athletes, artists, and spectators who made the event special.

The match ended in a 6–6 draw, with teams led by Edon Zhegrova and Milot Rashica.

He also humorously thanked their goalkeeper Vedat, whose locker-room jokes “took half of their energy before the match even began.”
