Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has warned that Israel will “deeply regret” what he described as its “reckless aggression” against Iran. This statement was made in a letter sent to the UN Security Council on Friday, as reported by CNN.

In the letter, Araghchi called for an urgent meeting of the Security Council, urging the international body to “strongly condemn this act of aggression” and to “take urgent and concrete measures to hold the Israeli regime fully accountable for its crimes.

Araghchi described the attack on Iran as “an open and unlawful act” and a “deliberate and reckless escalation that flagrantly violates the United Nations Charter and the most fundamental norms of international law.”

Israel, the most terrorist regime in the world, has now crossed every red line, and the international community must not allow these crimes to go unpunished,” Araghchi wrote.

He warned that Iran would respond in a “decisive and proportionate” manner. “The Islamic Republic of Iran will act with full determination to defend its sovereignty, people, and national security,” he concluded.
