The Israeli military has shifted the primary focus of its operations from Gaza towards Iran, striking approximately 150 targets within Iranian territory over the past 24 hours, according to reports from Israeli journalists and military sources, Gazeta Sinjali writes.
The Israeli Air Force stated that it now has high control over Tehran’s airspace, creating “safe routes” for further attacks.
This change in priority is part of a strategy to facilitate the release of 54 hostages still held in Gaza, including 20 individuals believed to be alive. Meanwhile, over 10,100 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons under difficult conditions, according to human rights organizations.
Israeli forces also declared that they are preparing for defense against any potential attack from the Hezbollah group, although the latter is not currently mobilizing for battles.
Previously, key Israeli military commanders confirmed the continuation of airstrikes against Iranian strategic facilities, while Iran responded with missile and drone attacks.
