Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with Anna Rostocka, Chief of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
According to a press release, Kurti and Rostocka discussed ongoing cooperation and the results of an IOM-implemented project, supported by the UK and Swiss Embassies in Kosovo, aimed at strengthening government processes related to the rights of non-majority communities.
“This project has notably enabled the creation of a digital platform by the Office for Community Affairs within the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as a bi-weekly bulletin promoting government opportunities for non-majority communities. It has also supported the verification process for diplomas from the University in North Mitrovica, allowing 381 graduates so far to apply for positions in Kosovo’s institutions, and the implementation of the Law on the Use of Languages through capacity building for translators,” the statement said.
Kurti thanked Rostocka for IOM’s support and expressed readiness to continue the partnership for shared goals in service of non-majority communities.
