The Kosovo Police today ordered the immediate evacuation of all deputies and staff from the Kosovo Assembly building following a bomb threat received via telephone.

The evacuation occurred just as deputies had gathered for the scheduled constitutive session, which was set to begin at 11:00 AM.

Threat Details and Police Response

Arben Loshi, the Deputy Secretary General of the Assembly, revealed that the alarm was triggered by a person who made the threat in English. “According to the notification, the evacuation was requested because a person called in English and said that a bomb was placed in the building and that it would explode within 10 minutes,” Loshi stated.

The Kosovo Police confirmed to Reporteri.net that the threat regarding an explosive device in the Kosovo Assembly was made via an SMS message.

The police have engaged competent units to address the case. “Today, on 05.07.2025 in the morning hours, an information (via SMS) was received regarding a threat with an explosive device in the state building of the Republic of Kosovo. Upon receiving the information, competent police units were engaged, which initially established a security perimeter and evacuated individuals from the premises,” the police statement read.

“The Kosovo Police has notified the competent prosecutor’s office and police investigators who, together with the relevant units and demining experts, are taking appropriate control actions in the building,” the police added.
