Israel has carried out airstrikes on three ports and a power plant in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, as part of what it calls “Operation Black Flag.”

Targets and Retaliation

The targets included the commercial vessel Galaxy Leader, which was seized by the Houthis in 2023 and reportedly used for maritime surveillance.

Following the Israeli strikes, two rockets were launched from Yemen towards Israel. The Israeli military activated sirens in several areas, stating that the interceptions were “under review.”

The Houthis claimed they used domestically produced surface-to-air missiles for defense. Their media outlets reported hits on the port of Hudaydah but provided no details on potential casualties or damage.

Israel’s Warning

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that the Houthis “will continue to pay a high price for their actions.”
