The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reiterated the role played by former U.S. President Donald Trump in preventing a potential escalation at the border between Kosovo and Serbia.
Speaking at a panel hosted by the Hudson Institute in the United States, President Osmani once again stated that Trump personally intervened at the time to de-escalate tensions, demonstrating his commitment to peace in the region.
“As President Trump himself has said, he prevented a conflict, he prevented an escalation—what Serbia was attempting to do at the border with Kosovo. It was his personal engagement and leadership that stopped it. That is true leadership in maintaining peace,” Osmani stated.
During the same discussion, she emphasized the critical role of the United States in safeguarding global peace, referencing the war in Ukraine as a clear example of why continuous international engagement is necessary.
“Because peace—as we all know from the war in Ukraine—should never be taken for granted. It is something that must be constantly protected and nurtured. And the role of the United States in this effort is essential, indispensable, and irreplaceable,” she added.
