US President Donald Trump has issued a new warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing deep disappointment over Russia’s stance on the ongoing war in Ukraine. Speaking on Monday, Trump announced that he might shorten the original 50-day deadline he gave Russia to accept a peace agreement.

“I will cut down the 50 days I gave him because I know what’s about to happen,” Trump told BBC reporters.

When asked about the new timeline, Trump declared the deadline is now “10 or 12 days from today.”

During a recent Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump threatened Russia and its trading partners with severe tariffs up to 100 percent if a peace deal is not reached within the original 50-day window.

Trump has recently hardened his position on Moscow, citing frustration with Putin’s unwillingness to halt the fighting in Ukraine.

The situation marks a new escalation in tensions as the world watches how Russia will respond to Trump’s 12-day ultimatum.
