The Constitutional Court of Kosovo has announced that it will issue a final ruling on the requests related to the formation of the Assembly, following the expiration of the temporary measure on August 8.
“After the ex officio decision to impose a temporary measure, the Court will deliver a final ruling regarding the submitted requests on the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly,” the Court stated in a response to Tëvë1.
Temporary Measure on Constitutive Session
Last Thursday, the Constitutional Court issued a decision for a temporary measure regarding the constitutive session. The ruling specified that if the Assembly failed to constitute itself within the given 30-day deadline, by July 26, members of parliament would be barred from taking any further action until August 8.
Uncertainty Over Next Steps
There remains uncertainty about what will happen after August 8, with differing opinions on whether MPs may lose their mandates and if the country could head toward extraordinary elections.
