A large fire broke out today at approximately 18:53 in a commercial establishment along the Kaçanik–Ferizaj highway, causing significant material damage.
According to the Kosovo Police in Ferizaj, emergency services responded immediately, with firefighting units, police patrols, and investigators from the Kaçanik Police Station arriving at the scene.
The Kosovo Electricity Distribution and Supply Company (KEDS) was also notified and promptly cut off power in the area to prevent further fire spread.
“Preliminary information suggests that the fire may have started from burning tires placed outside the facility, which then spread to a tire repair shop (gomisteri), partially damaging another nearby business and a section of a residential house,” stated Vesel Gashi, spokesperson for the Ferizaj Police.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. However, the material damage is estimated to be around €20,000.
Investigations into the cause and responsibility for the fire are currently ongoing.
